Activities of the Scheme:

Round Tables

The objectives of round tables are to bring parliamentary and business practitioners to a neutral forum in order to discuss relevant issues of policy and legislation.

Pre-legislative Reviews

The objective of this product is to create a transparent, representative environment to facilitate open discussion of draft legislation by all principle stakeholders (Parliament, Government, Businesses, NGOs etc) and to raise public awareness on a particular piece of legislation submitted to the Parliament.

Peer-to-peer Support

The objective of this product is to use the expertise of senior parliamentary practitioners from across IABP network for exchange of experience in practical aspects of law-making. This kind of direct support addresses issues related to Codes of Conduct and demonstrates examples of good practice.

Company Fellowships

Company fellowships are designed to cater to the Members’ special interest in a particular sector of economy. Fellowships are hosted by companies representing a sector.

Companies and MPs sign up to the IABP code of principles as a guarantee that the fellowship will not be used for spreading political opinions and lobbying. Both parties make a time commitment to the programme.

Business Fellowships

Business fellowships are organised for Parliament members for in-depth introduction to a particular industry. The topics of the study programme are identified based on an assessment of Members’ needs. The national scheme designs a study programme involving national and transnational companies operating in Armenia, relevant experts and business associations. The fellowships are meant to serve as a catalyst for initiating debate on sound economic policies.
