Nirex Supports Internationalising the Business and Parliament Concept

"Transparency is now as central to the work of Nirex as our scientific research and we have worked hard over recent years to build up a culture of complete openness within the company. The question of how to manage radioactive waste in the long-term is as much a social and ethical issue as it is a scientific and technical one. We believe, therefore, that it is a question that can (and should) only be answered with recourse to extensive public consultation and involvement. For this to happen, Nirex, as the body responsible, must be absolutely open and transparent, to allow all stakeholders the chance to see what we are doing and question, challenge and influence our work. Our efforts to move to greater openness and transparency are both necessary and right and that is why we are pleased to be able to support the International Association of Business and Parliament in its work promoting these values in emerging democracies."
