IABP-Armenia may offer a forum for discussions on the topic between the EU and the National Assembly. |
| 05 November 2007 | Meeting with UNDP Deputy Resident Representative Erik Gyulazyan, Executive Director for IABP-Armenia, had a meeting with Alexander Avanessov, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative. During the meeting parties agreed to intensify cooperation on matters related to developing sound business environment in Armenia, through possible joint projects. | 13 October 2007 | RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT 29 August - 1 September IABP-Georgia hosted Ms Natalia Federigi, ExecutiveDirector of the European Business and Parliament Scheme. The aim of the
visit was to share experience, strengthen relationships between the schemes
and set up an action plan for various programmes. These are aimed at closer
cooperation between the parliaments with the support of IABP. It was also an
opportunity for both directors to participate in training sessions led by the
Secretary General of IABP, Mr. Fredrick Hyde-Chambers. |

| 13 October 2007 | ANNUAL MEETING OF THE NATIONAL SCHEMES
OF THE IABP Between the 4-5 June the Annual General Meeting of the IABP took place in Brussels with the participation of all national business and Parliament schemes.Each scheme was represented by its director, who made a presentation of the
activities accomplished by the organization. The participants of the meeting
had the possibility to share experience with each other. A discussion took place
on how to raise effectiveness of the IABP as well as the national schemes. |
| 24 August 2007 | The UK Embassy have agreed to support the establishment of IABP-Oman The UK Embassy have agreed to support the establishment of IABP-Oman
And to fund the first programs. The State Council is supplying office accommodation. The programs will begin following the elections to the Lower House and the Sultans appointments to the Upper House (the State Council) in October.
One of the first programs will be a visit by Joe Reynolds, Deputy Clerk of the Northern Ireland Assembly and Senior Trustee of the Northern Ireland Assembly Business and Parliament Trust to discuss closer co-operation between the schemes. |
