President’s Dinner in the European Parliament

Mr. Alejo Vidal Quadras-Roca MEP, Vice President of the European Parliament, on behalf of the President Dr. Prof. Hans-Gert Poeterring MEP, hosted a dinner dedicated to the European Business and Parliament Scheme. The Dinner brought together business and Parliament schemes participating at the IABP Conference as well as Members of European Parliament and business representatives supportive to the development of the European Scheme.

Vice President in his speech stressed the benefit of programmes: “The benefit of the programs is that they are tailored to an MPs specific need and level of knowledge. They are not promoting any view but providing the opportunity for a first hand understanding of business issues through actual involvement with businesses in way in which no one is compromised. It is a genuine bridge to understanding”.

 He emphasized:"The schemes represented at this dinner have been serving their Parliaments and business communities for many years. It is thirtieth anniversary of the UK scheme; the twenty fifth of the Flemish scheme; the twentieth of the Spanish scheme and the fifteenth of the New Zealand Scheme. MPs and senior business people have very little time to spare. it is a measure of success of these schemes that they celebrating these anniversaries. They have proved a valuable resource to their national parliamentarians and business communities"
